EVENT STRUCTURE


As an annual event, in each edition the organisation will invite a number of countries or organisations outside of ECOWAS to take part in the event, exposing their products and services. The event has the designation "THE FLAVOURS OF ECOWAS" and adopts the motto: "ECOWAS A SPACE OF OPPORTUNITIES". It integrates the following six product segments : First segment: This segment consists of typical food products from ECOWAS countries and from the countries invited, where in addition to the different products being displayed, there will be a space adjacent to the area of ??the fair where these same products can be tasted (tasting event).

Second segment:This segment of the fair consists of the exhibition of light food processing equipment as well as food packaging and biotechnology;

Third segment: This segment of the fair consists of the exhibition of fashion and all fashion accessories, art and articles from ECOWAS countries for home, office and hotel decoration, including, among others, decorative pieces, fabrics, parts and accessories of traditional African garments;

Fourth segment: This segment of the fair consists of the exhibition of musical instruments and products, CDs, DVDs, Videos, etc. As far as musical instruments are concerned, they will be fundamentally traditional and remarkable in the culture of these countries, as are the cases of ferrinho, accordion, cimboa, monochord, and jingles, among others, in the case of Cape Verde. In the case of other countries of the region, examples are talking drum, kora, kalimba, goje, ng'oma, djembê, axatse, dundun, kakaki, among others.

Fifth segment: This component of the Fair consists of the exhibition of agricultural machinery and equipment, parts and accessories.

Sixth segment: This component of the Fair consists of the exhibition of office stationery, computer consumables, educational material, and others.

During the event, at night, different traditional musical groups from the ECOWAS countries will perform giving shows in the outside of the fairgrounds. The fair will last four days (5-8 December), with the participation of five musical groups for each of the first 3 nights of the Fair (5-7 December).

In 5 December it will be a Workshop specifically related to Intra-regional Trade in ECOWAS, where experts in different fields will be invited to intervene, inter alia, on export and import procedures; taxation; quality; product certification; logistics, and legal and customs aspects. Also during 5 December, two different points in time (extended hours during the lunch period and the evening at the welcome reception) are reserved for previously scheduled business meetings.

All participants in the Fair "THE FLAVORS OF ECOWAS", as exhibitors, will have numerous channels of dissemination, promotion and sale of the products to be exhibited at the event at their disposal.

One of the channels made available by the Organisation is an electronic commerce platform, robust and incorporating all the technological facilities and technologies required, at the level of the best platforms in the sector. This platform is the result of a technological partnership between ABRIMAR INNOVATION and an important Technological Player.

This multilingual platform, among other characteristics, has an online payment system, an online invoicing system, as well as a customer, supplier and socks management system. The detailed features of this platform are presented on the website www.emergys.pt. Exhibitors thus have at their disposal a powerful means of sales for their products before, during and after the event.

The days 3 and 4 December are reserved for a training / specialisation of employees of the exhibiting entities in order to enable them to take full advantage of the aforementioned platform. Through the aforementioned technological partnership, the users of the platform are guaranteed permanent upgrades, maintenance and technological innovation. The right to use the said platform is guaranteed by participating in the Fair.

Throughout each day of the Fair several moments will be reserved for tasting events of products on display. Exhibitors will also be able to schedule specific times for the presentation of their products to buyers, importers and distributors. Each scheduling will be an integral part of the programme of the event, and therefore, each scheduling intention must be communicated to the organisation upon registration.
